What is a barrisol ceiling?

An introduction to the word ‘barrisol ceilings’

It is important to note that the word ‘barrisol’ has become synonymous with a type of stretched ceiling system. A similar thing has happened with brands like ‘hoover’; the initial brand name becomes the generic term used to describe the product.

Here at Imperial Stretch Ceilings & Lighting we design, build and install stretch ceilings that, to some people, might be called barrisol ceilings, but are not barrisol-brand ceilings.
